"Rank, the casino and bingo hall group, firmed 2¾ to 91¼p after Guoco, the Malaysian leisure group, increased its stake once more, taking its holding to 9pc. Genting, another Malaysian gaming group, has built an 11pc stake in Rank. There has been speculation that either group could mount a bid for Rank, in an attempt to get hold of its lucrative casino licences."
