"Stephen Dattels, the Canadian lawyer who left Caledon Resources as executive chairman three years ago, has returned as a rebel investor and may try to oust the man who replaced him. Polo Resources, Mr Dattels’s AIM-listed Mongolian coal explorer (down ¼p at 13¼p), has built a 7 per cent stake in Caledon and is thought to be aiming to buy 10 per cent so that he can call an extraordinary meeting to remove Robert Alford, the chairman, and nonexecutive directors. A takeover bid could also be on the cards."
